Just got off the QM. Traffic is insane right now in Southampton. Last week, we left a few hours late due to the traffic for arrivng pax.

They are doing road construction in two places and it's causing major headaches getting to the ship. One woman said it took two hours just get from her hotel IN Southampton to the ship. I spoke to the driver on Sat and he said it is crazy.

So be prepared. Leave early for the ship just in case. I still have not worked on my plans on getting there yet. :eek: :eek: :eek:

We have booked the motorcoach transfer offered by Cunard from Victoria coach station to the vessel. Their instructions state: "Travel time from the coach station to the pier is approximately 2 hours, depending on traffic. Cunard representatives will meet you at the information desk in Victoria Coach Station from 9:30 AM and direct you to your transportation. We recommend you arrive between 10:00 AM-11:00AM. The transfer will depart Victoria Coach Station between 11:00AM-12:30PM."

 

Sounds like they may need to advance the timing somewhat to compensate for the traffic difficulties.

Hiya guys. Ok the traffic is not that bad. I'd the construction added about 15 minutes to the trip. It's two round abouts that make it nuts. The driver said it has not been as bad as two weeks ago when the ship had to wait two hours for people to get through. Consequently, it should be an easier trip. Just factor in a few extra minutes.
