Shore excursions....not available for very early booking?

I just booked on the Carnival Magic for the Bahamas itinerary for Dec, 2014. There are very few shore excursions listed for each port on our cruise.

 

When I search for excursions without being specific for our cruise dates, I see tons of excursions for each port.

 

Does Carnival add available excursions as the date approaches?

I think most of their excursions are done by outside vendors. I'm sure it's a matter of booking and scheduling. Have fun!!

More excursions will likely become available as your cruise nears. ,ore than likely, they haven't contracted for all of the excursions that far out. Remember also, Carnival charges for your excursions when you book them; they're not added to your onboard account like other lines. As a result, I don't tend to book them that far out.

They add excursions as the time gets a little shorter.

I usually book in advance, too, and usually it seems that all excursions are in place around 6 months ahead of time.
