We are sailing on Diamond Princess 21/2/14 Austraila to Singapore. DP appears not to have an international cafe like the Grand Princess.Does anyone know if D. has the facilitie to have coffee and nibbles anywhere else on the ship like the Grand Princess.?

Another question,When Princess sails out of Southampton England the formal nights as a rule find men wearing Tux or dress suits. Sailing from Australia what is the norm for formal nights?

Hi lanarkshire lad. We are sailing on the same cruise. Hope we get to meet up.

There is a Meet and Greet planned for the first sea day, at 10.30am in Skywalkers Nightclub, so maybe we'll see you then.

We are originally from Bournemouth UK but emigrated to NZ in 1975.

Yes there is a place in the atrium for coffee/ alcohol and light snacks.

Re the dress code on Diamond. It is probably a little less formal in Aus/NZ waters. In the main dining rooms most men wear lounge suits or blazer and flannels, but some, incl yours truly, wear a tux because I dont get chance to wear it anywhere else!! There are also some dinner jackets in evidence.

We have done the reverse cruise, from Bangkok to Sydney, on Diamond, twice before. She's a beautiful ship and I promise you're in for a great cruise.

Unfortunately the Diamond is scheduled for dry dock when your cruise arrives in Singapore. No I.C. on the Diamond, but there should be coffee drinks and pastries served at the Lobby Bar on deck 5.

Princess has already announced the addition of a Japanese style bath house to the Diamond. I guess they will also add the I.C. and other Asian friendly venues like a sushi bar.

There is a possibility that you may get on some time after 12.00 but you will be able to drop your luggage off and then it's a very short walk to some interesting places including the Sydney Opera House.

The historical "Rocks" area of Sydney is adjacent to the OPT so that's another good area to spend some time.

We're flying in from NZ at about 9.30 am so we will head straight to the OPT and see whats happening.
