Cove Balcony -sea spray???

Has anyone sailed in a cove balcony room? If so does the balcony get wet from the sea spray?

A certain degree of spray is to be expected, but ours never got wet. We didn't have rough seas though.

We were on the Magic last year at spring break and we had rough seas for the first 4 days of the cruise. The cove balcony was wet all during that time. For some of the cruise, the watertight doors had to be closed.

I agree with OP we had calm seas and never saw any signs of spray. The cove balcony was really nice. Give it a try once and if you don't like go regular balcony again. It is worth a try.

If you want to see how they close up the cabins, Zydecocruiser has a site with a video. He was on the Dream in a cove. It looks like they put the chairs in your cabin when they close off the balcony.

I hope they don't put the chairs in our room, It's already going to be tight with four people in in it.

We had a fair amount of salty residue daily. We put a towel on the floor inside the door to wipe our feet when we came in from the balcony and that worked well. We took a handtowel and wiped down the railing each morning so it wasn't sticky. On the couple of days it was really bad we sat on bath towels. Still we would do it again in a heartbeat. Being that close to the water is great.

We were about mid ship and didnt notice any. Loved the cove. Mid ship is perfect.
