Norwegian's Freestyle Cruise Rewards Terms & Conditions for US and Canada

To redeem your Freestyle Cruise Rewards please call your Travel Professional or Norwegian at 1-866-234-7352. At time of booking, please notify us or your Travel Professional that your Freestyle Cruise Rewards deposit will be applied to the reservation. Cruise Rewards cannot be redeemed online.

1. When you charge a $250 Freestyle Cruise Rewards Deposit to your shipboard account, you will receive Cruise Reward credit in USD or CAD based on which office your current cruise was purchased (credit will go in your Norwegian guest record or Norwegian Latitudes account); and an instant $100 shipboard credit towards your current cruise.

2. Your Freestyle Cruise Rewards Deposit is charged in U.S. dollars. You must be 21 years of age or older to charge a $250 Freestyle Cruise Rewards to your shipboard account.

3. A maximum of four (4) Freestyle Cruise Rewards Deposits may be purchased per person.

4. Freestyle Cruise Rewards Deposits are refundable only within 30 days of purchase, in the amount paid minus the amount of the instant $100 shipboard credit. A Freestyle Cruise Rewards Deposit can only be applied to a new reservation and otherwise has no cash value and is not redeemable or exchangeable for cash. Cruise Rewards Deposits are transferable at no charge.

5. Freestyle Cruise Rewards Deposits are valid for sailings of 6 days or longer.

6. Limit one (1) Freestyle Cruise Rewards Deposit may be used per stateroom; and may be used as the full deposit for all staterooms except Specialty Suites, The Haven and Garden Villas (staterooms requiring enhanced deposit). One (1) Freestyle Cruise Rewards Deposit may be used as a partial deposit towards the full required deposit for Specialty Suites, Courtyard Villas and Garden Villas.

7. Freestyle Cruise Rewards Deposits are valid for new reservations made within 4 years from the date of purchase, and become null and void after expiration. Failure to redeem and sail within 4 years will result in forfeiture of Freestyle Cruise Rewards Deposit.

8. You must notify Norwegian or your Travel Professional that a Freestyle Cruise Rewards Deposit will be applied at the time of reservation. No black-out dates will apply. Reservations are subject to availability.

9. Freestyle Cruise Rewards Deposits cannot be combined with chartered cruises, employee, friends and family, interline and travel agent rates.

10. To cancel a reservation made with a Freestyle Cruise Rewards Deposit, you must submit the cancellation in writing and it must be received by Norwegian in accordance with Norwegian cancellation policies and procedures. The Freestyle Cruise Rewards Deposit will be re-issued minus any cancellation fees, but will retain its original expiration date. If you cancel a reservation made with a Freestyle Cruise Rewards Deposit after its expiration date, it will be forfeited. You are expected to have appropriate travel documentation. Cancellations due to lack of appropriate travel documentation (e.g., improper or expired visas or passports, etc.) will incur applicable cancellation fees.

11. In addition to these Terms and Conditions, you must comply with the NCL the NCL (Bahamas) Ltd. d/b/a NCL and/or NCL America Inc.'s (together "NCL") Terms and Conditions of the Cruise Brochure and Passenger Ticket Contract.

Are you allowed to "sell" a reward on here that will expire in one year? I bought 2 for hubby and I and now I find I only need one for the both of us. I was gonna sell the $250 one for a loss of $200. If I can "transfer it" as my travel agent says is ok....I'll give my email.

I've transferred quite a few of the cruise rewards to other people, and have seen them for sale on ebay. If you have a Personal Cruise Consultant they should be able to handle the transfer for you. :)

stupid question... If you don't use all the OBC from buying a certificate, do you lose it, or is it refunded at the end of the cruise?

When you buy the certificate you are charged $250 and then credited with $100. So your account balance goes up $150........no need to spend it anywhere else.

Not really applicable. The $100 OBC is automatically credited to your account when you purchase the FCR for $250. Your net cost will be $150. The $100 OBC is already pre-spent in a manner of speaking. If you spent nothing for the remainder of the cruise, you would owe NCL $150. Anything extra that you spend will be added to your $150 tab. The $100 OBC is really just a discount. At least that's the way I look at it.

I sold one on eBay. Just make sure the buyers are aware of all terms and conditions. Easy to transfer but they have to be latitudes members of course.

Actually there is no need to already be a Latitude member. I have twice now transferred to friends that have never cruised before. They assign them a Guest number when they transfer it and it becomes their Latitude number once they have cruised.

  • 1 month later...

quick question: not sure if I should start a new thread:

(this is wayy back in Sept-ish & cruise isn't until June)

bought for going forward 1 cabin -- 3 ppl. one using the cruise reward.

We're going w/ another couple.. so they book 1 cabin.

Bad news, other couple, hubby passed away & they refunded their cabin.

Problem -- booked outside airfare. They refunded hubby's plane ticket but not hers.

so now-- can we change the 1 cabin for 3 into 2 (will they credit the difference? or can we change to another category cabin? do we need to submit a letter, etc requestion full refund...

will still have 2 cabins - 2 ppl each (total 4 ppl going w/o hubby)

We just want to change category or floor of the cabins. Originally, they only had the 3 ppl cabin on the 13th floor. We rather have it on lower level. (lower floor is better for her seasickness)

Sorry.. just run on sentences/thoughts.

will be going to travel agent thurs/friday.. no answers at the moment because it's the holidays...

Thx.

Cynthia

I have seen at least one person say that they were able to get it extended.

You can also attempt to sell (transfer) it.

Can't be used on less than 6 day cruise.

Never heard of anyone getting extension but maybe depends on circumstances.

Can be sold or transferred.

It's been reported that a short extension is possible. Maybe 30 days or so. Many people buy and sell them, usually if there is some significant time left on them you can get the $150 you spent for them. If they have very little time left it might be less valuable. Good luck.
