RK88 Posted October 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2013 Only 13 days and we will step aboard the MS Eurodam for a 14 day caribbean cruise. We are really looking forward to this trip, but we still have some questions. We booked a VF cat cabin (5058) however, after reading some usefull information on this forum I did send a request to our TA for a possible upgrade. Since we are in our cabin with 3 persons, we know it will be narrow, but what is the quality and size of the third bed? About the specialty restaurants, 2 weeks ago I made my reservation for Canaletto, today I decided to make a reservation for Tamarind. Does anyone have a recent menu of both restaurants? I heard a rumour about the soda card (value $50,- costs $25,-), we are coca cola fans, so this card is a great deal for us, however the rumour said that only glasses of soda are served when paying with this soda card, is this correct? Are the coffee machines in the Lido restaurant derving cappuccino? What kind of entertainment is currently aboard this ship?

boulders Posted October 29, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 29, 2013 Regarding the soda card, I found the glasses of fountain soda to be diluted and filled with ice. This was on the Nieuw Amsterdam. I'm a big diet coke drinker and plan NOT to buy the soda card on my next cruise. I much prefer the cans.
Krazy Kruizers Posted October 29, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 29, 2013 We don't drink soda, but one time we were sitting at the Lido bar and watched as the bar tender prepped a soda. He scooped ice into the glass -- there was a little water there -- not much. The glass was completely filled to the top with ice and barely half a can of soda was poured into the glass. It is also very easy to ask the waiter "Just a few ice cubes, please" I am sure the waiter would understand.

RK88 Posted October 29, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted October 29, 2013 Do you think:rolleyes:. They love to fill it up with ice even when you ask them not to. Is this because of the soda card? What happens if you just order a coke, and present your soda card when the drink is brought to you?
cruz chic Posted October 29, 2013 #9 Share Posted October 29, 2013 Canaletto has changed on a couple of ships -- haven't heard about the Eurodam's. It didn't have the new menu as of a couple days ago. I found the Canaletto on the NA to be excellent. It was mediocre on the Eurodam. Tamarind was excellent.
