another question - Galveston Carnival Magic, this sunday Nov 3

is when we embark on our cruise

 

i understand its also the same weekend as a big motorcycle rally.

 

anyone have any experience with this motorcycle rally from the past? in reading, i've see where they say up to 500,000 people are in galveston that weekend :eek:

 

ALL the hotel rooms are at $300+ a night!

 

i'm skeered................HAHA, no seriously............how bad will it be sunday morning driving into galveston and getting to the Lighthouse parking lot & boarding?

We went this weekend last year and didn't have any problems. We did try to get there a little bit early just in case. Breezed right through.

a lot of people will be leaving sunday to head back home. The Strand will likely be busy even in the morning. Depending on how drunk people are Saturday evening will determine how long they stay Sunday. Last year I went down that Sunday for some other reason (christmas shopping i think) and didnt realize it was Biker weekend until i saw the banners on Broadway. The strand wasnt much more busy than normal last year for biker weekend.
