Pisco and Nasca Lines

We are in Pisco for the entire day and I know this is the port to see the Nazca lines. I was hoping the ship would put together a tour but as of yet they have not. How feasible is it to do this tour independently?

Any advice would be appreciated.

We did a private tour out of Pisco that included the Nazca lines and Ballestas Island in April 2012.

Ballestas Island cruise was fantastic.

The flight over the Nazca lines was very interesting. Normally I don't have a problem flying but I must admit I was not feeling great during the second half of the trip. So if you have any issues with motion sickness beware. I don't usually have a problem either in the air or on water but this time I did. It was a very small plane that we had to board 1 at a time in the exact order according to our seats on the plane. The seating was determined by each person's weight. Unfortunately if you are unlucky as I was to be stuck in the middle, your view of the lines are more limited.

I was very unimpressed with our tour guide in Pisco so I can't recommend him to you. It was the same company we used in Lima and they were fantastic there but the guy who handled our tour in Pisco was bad.

Bottom line is I think you can do it on your own just do your research. You certainly have plenty of time to do it.
