sardam Posted October 31, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2013 Has anyone been on this excursion? It says it is a 3hr excursion, but at the bottom of the description it says "Feel free to hang out as long as you like at the Seaside Club. Snap a picture with the resident green iguanas or shop for souvenirs. A free taxi will be waiting to take you back to your Carnival ship or to down town Cozumel for some shopping." so is it possible to stay more then 3 hours and possibly snorkel on our own or whatever? We have been on the Chankanaab Clear Kayak and Snorkel excursion and really enjoyed Chankanaab and were thinking about heading back there and spending the day doing some snorkelling on our own and wondering the grounds. The day before we were thinking we would do the stingray and sea turtle excursion in Grand Cayman but am thinking of maybe doing the sting rays in Cozumel instead and just do sea turtles in Grand Cayman. Any opinions from anyone? This is the first cruise we are bring our 7 year old boys on. They have only snorkelled in a pool before, and have only 'pet' sting rays at an aquarium not in the ocean but were very fascinated by them. Thanks
dkc1973 Posted November 1, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2013 You can stay longer but I don't think you'd get to snorkel more. The way it's set up they will probably have another group behind yours so you'd be snorkeling among their group. Theres really the feeding area and snorkeling area- no other water access point. Rare Lionesss Posted November 1, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 1, 2013 Also it is HOT (no kidding), and you will need to be cautious on the amount of sun you get, to avoid burns and dehydration. For comparison: we did that dolphin excursion and it was 4 hours, one with the dolphins and manatee and 3 on the beach. After one hour we were ready to head back to port because we were so hot. The sun is a killer. You will have plenty of time to enjoy your excursion. Safe travels. Sue and crew

We've been snorkeling and kayaked for a few hours and done a walking tour with minimal shade no problem. Is this an issue for many? Thanks for your concern. mccbeh Posted November 2, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 2, 2013 We walked by the place and were allowed to check it out. It is ok...but really nothing else to do or see besides swimming with the rays. There is no beach or anything...not comparable with Chankanaab. Thanks loved it and no they will limit your stingray but not the snorkel time and they have a play set with trampoline out in the middle of the snorkel side we could stay as long as you liked and they would hail a cab for you when you are ready . we headed over to Jeanie s for the best margaritas in Cozumel after wards

jamona2311 Posted November 23, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 23, 2013 Is there another beach close to the rays beach that we could go to afterward? We'd like to do some snorkeling after the rays. Or should we just go back to the port? I think they have a beach at the port right?? So confused Hha:)
dad son team Posted November 27, 2013 #9 Share Posted November 27, 2013 Quick question related to the Everybody Loves Rays excursion. According to the website there is a 300lb weight limit. Why? I want to do this but tip the scale a bit over this so I'm on the fence. It's not like I'm riding them, right? Is it a boat issue?
