tbmrt Posted November 7, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2013 I seem to remember being able to draw cash at the casino, but recently read that a 5% charge will apply. Is that correct? OR can I write a check onboard to get cash at desk? I prefer not carrying too much cash around. Thank you Barbara
Norwegian Cruiser 73 Posted November 7, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2013 Unless they have changed their policy lately there is no charge on cash withdrawal at the casino cash desk. At the guest service desk there is a 3% service charge on cash withdrawal. Hope this helps:)

Thanks Barbara OMG, what will you do with all the cash if you hit the jackpot? Seriously, I believe a DEBIT CARD is your best source of cash on land or sea with the least possibility of service charges and the best exchange rate on shore. But MSC do not accept debit cards (at least not UK's ones) for payment of onboard accounts. There are plenty of credit cards and forex cards you can get that provide reasonable conversion rates and low or no commission. You just need to shop around. Also remember to tell the card provider you're going on a cruise or your card can and does get blocked when they start seeing charges from different countries over a few days.
