Carnival splendor jan 2014 - is it worth $240 to upgrade from 6c main to 8f panorama?

I can upgrade from a category 6C oceanview (#2408 midship) on the Main deck to a category 8F balcony on the Panorama deck for $240 but question whether it's worth the money. Reviews I've read talk of Lido deck noise (above Panorama deck) day and night as well as cigarette smoke on the balcony. I'd really like an upgrade to the Spa deck as I've heard that any category on that deck, even inside, is a good bet, but I'm told it's all sold out. What do you think? Do I splurge for the upgrade or wait it out and see if something good comes up as we get closer to the sailing date, which now is just 52 days away.

The worth is subjective. It depends on what you believe it's worth. Not knowing the exact dimensions of the rooms you speak of, I'm thinking you're switching from ocean view to balcony. If so, then you are not really getting more square footage. The question then becomes, is it worth the money for a balcony by itself. Everything else is pretty much the same.

 

Someone like me, doesn't care and won't use the balcony, so I personally wouldn't splurge for that and spend the money elsewhere.
