Excursions / What not to miss on Tahiti?

Tahiti/Papeete is our port of departure on our upcoming cruise and we´ll spend at least 1-2 days before departure there so now I´m asking for all your advice on what to do while on Papeete, and what not to miss out on?

 

Any excursions that you can recommend? Places that should not be missed etc.? All advice is highly appreciated!

Some people like to take a cat out to Tetiaroa, it's an all day excursion but very beautiful.

 

Another thing you can do is rent a car and tour the island for the day, get out of big PPT and see the more laid back areas of Tahiti.

 

Don't forget to visit the roulettes along the waterfront after 6:30 pm
