Hi,

In february 2013, Celebrity offered with the Solstice, a cruise of 17 days from Perth to Sydney. Did somebody take a tour to the Great barrier reef and have a photo of the catamaran which brings people to the pontoon on the outer reef. Simply to know the stability of the boat. Thank you.

Also depends where you leave from...ie Port Douglas, Yorkeys, Cairns , Airlie Beach?

The ones in Port Douglas are huge.

Also depends on the sea conditions. Even though the catamarans are twin hulled and very stable , they can "jump" around a bit in a heavy sea. The day we went was very rough, and most people were using the barf bags.

We weren't on the same ship, but here is a photo of the catamaran we were on and I imagine a lot of the others are similar.

It was quite large and there was room enough inside for them to show videos and ads, as well as serve a meal, tea, coffee etc

The journey was reasonably smooth though you do feel the motion a lot more than on a cruise ship. It didn't affect any of us, we enjoyed the trip (although it takes ages), but I was surprised to see a couple of teens vomiting and staff had to hose down some seating.
