EMED2010 Posted November 21, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2013 Can someone tell what the differences are between Park Cafe and Cafe Promenade? We had Cafe Promenade on the Explorer and now we will be getting Park Cafe on Grandeur.
leaveitallbehind Posted November 21, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) From the RCI website: Park Café A casual-eats deli cafe offering made-to-order salads, paninis and freshly prepared sandwiches. Don't miss the signature "Kummelweck" roast beef sandwich – a guest favorite. On Radiance of the Seas®, Splendour of the Seas®, and Oasis-class ships. Café Promenade The multi-level Royal Promenade is the heart of our Voyager-, Freedom-, and Oasis-class ships – and the best spot for people watching. Pick a table with a view at Café Promenade, serving Seattle's Best Coffee, snacks, pastries and sandwiches throughout the day and into the night – so you can enjoy the action when you please. The Café Promenade is on ships with the Royal Promenade. Park Café has been added to more ships than this indicates including Grandeur, which on that ship is located in the Solarium. Park Café is preferred by us - better and broader selection IMO. Edited November 21, 2013 by leaveitallbehind
Clarea Posted November 21, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 21, 2013 Can someone tell what the differences are between Park Cafe and Cafe Promenade? We had Cafe Promenade on the Explorer and now we will be getting Park Cafe on Grandeur. Different types of food is offered, and generally different hours. Cafe Promenade offers small sandwiches, fruit, pizza (on Voyager class ships), cookies, and desserts. It is open almost 24 hours. Park Cafe opens for breakfast and snacks, and has different offerings for these periods. Breakfast has items like english muffin sandwiches, wraps, panini, fruit cups, bagels, and oatmeal. Snacks has sandwiches, wraps, panini, the famous roast beef sandwich, salads, and cookies. There are specific hours for breakfast and snacks, and it is not open 24 hours. EMED2010 Posted November 21, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted November 21, 2013 Thank you both! That helps a lot. Since Park Cafe is not open 24 hours, where would you get something to eat or drink (other than room service)?

Since Park Cafe is not open 24 hours, where would you get something to eat or drink (other than room service)? Park Cafe is usually open late. On our recent Legend cruise, it was open until 1:30am. Once it was closed, only room service was available. Several years ago, when Royal instituted a charge for room service between midnight and 5am, they said they would keep some other venue open during that time so guests could still get complimentary snacks very late. I've seen several ships that don't seem to follow this anymore. Edited November 21, 2013 by clarea

You'll be able to get pre-packaged sandwiches, hot dogs, and pizza.
