gregeol Posted November 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2013 (edited) We are booked on the Coral for an Alaska cruise next August. We also did the land package preceding the cruise. When we are in Denali we are booked on the four hour natural history tour but would like to book the 7 hour tundra wilderness tour. Does anyone know who we talk to to make this switch? Any help would be appreciated, thanks. Edited November 27, 2013 by gregeol
ridgerunner51 Posted November 27, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2013 Last year, we asked our TA to have ours changed.
Whoop98 Posted November 27, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2013 We just did that for August 2014 Island. Just call the 800 number for princess and talk to them. The lady I got was not sure if she could make the change herself, she is not in the "land" department. But she was able to change it. Very easy. There will be an up charge but worth it from what I read on here. Also lunch I saw was small so maybe get a sandwich to chill (seeing no fridges in the rooms) or "supplies" in Fairbanks, that is our plan.

See post #9 at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1727858 for a picture of the supplied lunch on the bus tour. There was a Subway sandwich shop across the street from the lodge. We bought a couple of sandwiches there (prices higher than in the lower 48). We kept them cool overnight by putting them in a towel over a bucket of ice in the room. Budget Queen Posted November 27, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 27, 2013 (edited) Most of the time, you need 2 nights to go on the TWT, instead of the worthless NHT. BUT, frankly you are way better off, getting the refund from Princess and then booking your OWN park entrance into the park, on you own. http://www.reservedenali.com There have been cases of with Princess upgraded TWT you are not given the time until you get there. There is also the option- of the superior SHUTTLE bus to Eielson, with the NHT refund, paying for this with money back. It does require some EFFORT by the visitor, which many don't want to consider. Best is to be fully informed. http://www.nps.gov/dena Edited November 27, 2013 by Budget Queen
