a5lson Posted December 6, 2013 #26 Share Posted December 6, 2013 Hi Arlene, Yes, as of right now we are traveling with a large group, however, 2 couples have already cancelled and others may also, so not sure of our actual numbers yet. We have not yet booked anything for Salvador or Tenerife. I also e-mailed Patsy as did my friend, and neither of us heard from her. Knowing that she is booked means we will look elsewhere. My friend has been to Tenerife before, and had a wonderful tour guide, but they need at least 30 people for a really good price. I will let you know as soon as we hear more back from them. We just booked Daniel Cabral for Rio, (#1 on trip adviser)for a day and a half tour and will have room on that one. We booked for 18 people, so if you are interested in joining us, please e-mail me at ptcellenatcomcast.net. Thanks for confirming that Patsy is already booked. Ellen:) Silly me, I see you sent me your email. I will be contacting you tomorrow.
ptcellen Posted December 6, 2013 #27 Share Posted December 6, 2013 Hi Arleen, Yes, we should get together with the tour companies. We have just booked Tangiers and have a great price from an excellent guide recommended on trip adviser. We have also booked Rio as you know, and have some room on that one as well. I will be checking this weekend for Salvador and Tenerife. Please e-mail me tomorrow. Again it is ptcellenatcomcast.net. Talk tomorrow. Ellen:)

Looking forward to hearing back from you. Arleen:) These discussions regarding guides for other cruises really need to be in your roll calls or thru private e-mails. They are completely off topic and don't belong anywhere on this cruise board. Not trying to be rude but, these types of discussions simply don't belong here. traveler916 Posted December 31, 2013 #31 Share Posted December 31, 2013 We’re trying to figure out why we have a time change going AHEAD one hour tonight when we’ve consistently been going BACK one hour. Must have to do with Brazil’s funny shape ... today we were on Salvador time, it seems that tomorrow we’ll be on Mid-Atlantic time. Mura Mura - it was very nice meeting you and Howard... If you can figure out the time change thing, please let me know :) gary
Mura Posted December 31, 2013 Author #32 Share Posted December 31, 2013 Hi Gary, I still am holding to the "Brazil Bulge" theory! Haven't done any research, though ... It was good meeting you and Jody. Hope to sail with you again! Mura
Ka Honu Posted January 1, 2014 #33 Share Posted January 1, 2014 I think Salvador and Rio are on opposite (east & west) edges of the same time zone but Salvador observes DST while Rio doesn't. I didn't know that when we were there so expected them to be on the same time or perhaps an hour later in (more easterly) Salvador. I was obviously misinformed and/or confused. Now I'm just puzzled.
