cb at sea Posted November 30, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2013 Labadee IS a beach day.....it's RCI's private beach! No worries there! Jamaica's port isn't really near much....head to the Port of Call boards to get ideas of where a good beach is, and how to get there. The dining room, WJ, Cafe Promenade, and room service are included in your fare.

Sunshine101 Posted November 30, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2013 You will LOVE Freedom! We've been on her twice and it's a great ship. Lovely food in the dining room, Windjammer was also good. Have a great time with whatever you decide!

We are only looking at going to the beach thanks We were last in Labadee in 2008. Labadee is a nice, relaxing beach day as long as you don't go to the shopping area with the locals. We found them to be too pushy for our taste. We are looking forward to going back and trying the roller coaster and/or the zip line. When we were in Jamaica we docked at Ocho Rios. We weren't impressed with it and were offered the ubiquitous pot. I wouldn't feel safe wondering too far from port on my own. If we go back we will certainly book an excursion. Eng23 Posted November 30, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) Freedom is a great ship! Free dinning venues: Main Dinning Room Sorrento's Pizza (Best Sorrento's on any ship IMHO) Cafe Promenade Windjammer (you knew of this one) Specialty Dinning (extra fee): Chops Grille Portofino's (could be Giovanni's now) Johnny Rockets Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Cupcake Cupboard Labadee is a great beach day!! There are multiple beaches and some exciting activities if you are so inclined. Try the Dragon's Breath Zipline for a fun ride and a great view. Falmouth in my opinion is forgettable. Definetly not my favorite port. The port area itself is brand new and nice but, if you leave the port area there is a big difference. Pushy vendors and a less than desirable experience in the town. You pretty much need to do an excursion that goes from the port via arranged transportation. Many of the excursions are about a 40 minute to 1 hour ride from the port.
