gann Posted July 13, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2005 In March we stayed in the Crown Plaza and it was a nice modern Hotel. Also have stayed in the Sheraton Four Point and it was O.K., but have stayed in better Hotels. Was convenient for places to eat. Don
Bill S Posted July 13, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 13, 2005 "reasonable" covers a lot of territory! :) We stayed at the Hyatt Regency, a bit pricey but not outrageous, IMO. Excellent hotel though not downtown.
daju22 Posted July 14, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 14, 2005 We stayed at the Santiago Mariott last year. Don't know the price as we were with a group. It was a beautiful hotel!
cruiser77 Posted July 14, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted July 14, 2005 Thanks for your comments! Do you think we should book our hotel early or wait little bit closer to our cruise to get the best price? What were the prices for your hotels if I may ask? Thanks again! Bill S Posted July 14, 2005 #6 Share Posted July 14, 2005 cruiser77: I like to book early, just a personal preference. We had booked an excursion from Santiago to Valparaiso through Port Compass and they got us a discount for the Regency Hyatt--IIRC, it was in the $180/night range. We had complimentary breakfast buffet and they also had high tea in the afternoons, also complimentary. It is really a first-rate, modern and beautiful hotel. Our room had a view of the Andes and was bi-level--the bed was on the elevated portion of the room and there was a large sitting area between the bed and the window that was "sunken" for lack of a better word. The concierge and other staff were excellent. I recall seeing the Marriott--it is also a very nice, modern hotel. Hope this helps.
