CruisinMaterial Posted December 2, 2013 #27 Share Posted December 2, 2013 I do have to agree with hearing Sweet Caroline WAY too many times! Sweet Caroline is a Boston favorite. The ship just came from Boston so that's to be expected. Sorry to say Bostonians are in love with that song as much as they are with their beloved Red Sox. I guess when the ship travels south for the winter they keep the Boston theme alive!:D
Purplehaze21 Posted December 2, 2013 #28 Share Posted December 2, 2013 WOO HOO!! I cannot wait until 54 days to go on this "Crappy boat, with crappy food and crappy entertainment" :D This will be our 1st Norwegian cruise! We have done 5 Carnival and 2 RCI cruises and wanted a change. We are so excited! :D
Barb Nahoumi Posted December 2, 2013 #29 Share Posted December 2, 2013 Perhaps the reviewer should have booked during Spring Break. Oh Wait, then she'd only complain about too many rowdys on board.
johnsak123 Posted December 2, 2013 #30 Share Posted December 2, 2013 That review is just BS Some people just don't like things and generalize I knew it was bs when they thought teppanyaki was good Mind you , people like it but to say it was the only tasty food they ate is a lie There are activities all day for everyone both young and old I don't agree or believe the review for one second
Barb Nahoumi Posted December 2, 2013 #31 Share Posted December 2, 2013 I wonder if the original reviewer is reading our replies. I have sailed on the Dawn a few times and never found anything to complain about. Next year, I hope to book her to Bermuda again.
jackparts Posted December 2, 2013 #32 Share Posted December 2, 2013 While I was not on the op's cruise, I was on the Thanksgiving cruise . All I can say is if you were not on the same or next cruise, how can you comment negatively? You were not there. I was, and while my cruise was not as bad as the op's, it was definitely not perfect. Waiting a LOONNGG time to embark with no information from the confused staff is not the way to start a cruise. Over 3 hours in line is not a good way to end a cruise. I will post a review later but once again, every cruise can be viewed differently, Just as each poster has the write to their opinion.

NH Cruisers Posted December 2, 2013 #35 Share Posted December 2, 2013 To have any vacation be 100% perfect in every way would be unusual. As it too is unusual to have such a bad cruise and to not had a major malfunction like the Carnival Splendour or worse Costa's Concordia. I personally feel the reviewer was a troll trying to stir the pot. Jon

DCP Posted December 3, 2013 #38 Share Posted December 3, 2013 We board the Dawn this Sunday!!!! We also got a phone call this morning to NOT arrive at the port before 1 pm. (or be ready for a long wait in line!) We'll do as they say, and look forward to being on a ship and pampered for a whole week!:D

Now the only time you hear it is at the old ballpark as the Oldies station flipped to Top 40 in Boston. Just what Boston needed... more Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.:rolleyes:

Qachbals offers some light (and good) breakfast items, as well as some 'superbly superb' chocolates to carry onboard for future enjoyment. http://www.qachbalschocolatier.com/ . Clearly that person had done NO research before sailing or even before booking. Gary Glading - the CD - does some very informative port talks. She sounds like a whingeing Brit (I am a Brit) so the DSC would have been included in the final invoice - not added at $12 pppd. I call troll. The irony is my wife has never gambled a cent in her life, she stays clear of casino's and only passes thru when necessary to get from point a to point b! She sat at a vacant electronic poker table watching the TV. When I later told her she could have watched it in the cabin, she was a bit pissed! I am a big Bruins and Patriots fan, but baseball & basketball put me to sleep! Purplehaze21 Posted December 3, 2013 #48 Share Posted December 3, 2013 I feel you will NOT be dissapointed. Jon I have a feeling you are right! I am so excited to try a new cruise line. Nothing wrong with the other lines we have sailed, just want a change! 1 cruise it rained 3 of the 5 days and we missed HMC. Was I disappointed, yes, bad mouth Carnival, No. They don't control the weather. We still had an amazing time because it is what you make of it :) I love reading reviews but it never sways my mind. I read anything on the Dawn right now since I am so clueless about this ship :p
