babygirl722 Posted December 1, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2013 We are just off the Breakaway and wanted to report that my mother's cabin, 9240, was directly over some sort of speaker that blasts loudly from Deck 8, pretty much day and night. After 2 nights of no sleep, the Hotel Director moved her to a different cabin on Deck 13. Basically, they are aware of the issue, which affects several cabins in the same vicinity. If you have this cabin, I'd consider changing it now. All in all, the ship is beautiful, the food, crew and entertainment fantastic and we had a wonderful time! Any questions, fire away! We did, however, make good use of the tables and chairs on that deck to sit outside and enjoy the breeze. BTW, the outside tables just aft of Cagney's (port side) are the perfect spot to view the fireworks. Don't even bother trying to tackle the crowds at Spice. Since the weather was generally lousy, we did not get to spend time in the sun except for a short period during our last sea day and we did spend it at Spice/H20. Wow, what a great spot it is. I hope to be parked on a lounge chair there during most of my Feb cruise!!
meatball_nyc Posted December 1, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2013 Good tips! I knew I was going to love Spice H2O! Thank you. Oh one more question. In all the research I've done, can't seem to find out if there's an outlet in the bathroom. We will be in a BD balcony on Deck 10. Wish the weather had been nicer for sunning. I've never cruised out of NYC in the fall, but I did view the BA webcam last week and noticed rain a few days. Appreciate your responses. babygirl722 Posted December 1, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted December 1, 2013 There is an outlet in the bathroom above the mirror on the top right. Unfortunately it is only for electric razors! Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

Sauer-kraut Posted December 1, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 1, 2013 Aw. I was hoping to plug in a nightlight there. Instead of an electric night light just run to the dollar store and get one of the little battery powered tea light candles. They are the best for having light in the dark bathroom. They are cheap and one will last much longer than your cruise! Turn on at night and just remember to turn it off in the morning :)
meatball_nyc Posted December 1, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 1, 2013 Haha. I have recently bought 14 of them for the cruise!! (Got the tips here on CC of course). Thank you sauer kraut for the reply. Just thought I would get to use the new photoilluminescent nightlight I just bought. I love this board :) BTW Breakaway left port right on time today!! babygirl722 Posted December 1, 2013 Author #9 Share Posted December 1, 2013 We left the bathroom light some nights and others I just used by cell phone as a night light if I needed to walk to the bathroom!!
