debk68 Posted December 8, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2013 This place is amazing! I wouldn't miss it if you have never been to Puerto Rico and are physically able to walk a lot! A couple of things that I wish I would have known- 1. It doesn't open until 9 am. RCCI Explorer of the Seas was there from 7-1. We spent over 3 hours at both sites. 2. There is a free shuttle! It goes between the sites and into Old San Juan. We took it from the farthest Fortress to just passed (about 2 blocks) the cruise port. I don't know where to find a schedule on the shuttle. Otherwise from the cruiseport, you can see the fortress. It is a few blocks. 3. Your US National Parks Pass works here, so if you have the one for Seniors, it allows for the cardholder and 3 others to get in for free. Bring the pass don't leave it at home :D I know that we will be returning to San Juan as we didn't get to see anything other than the Fortresses. Which are amazing! Colorado Kat Posted December 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Yes, the forts are very nice. We always get a National Parks pass. Very handy.
sail7seas Posted December 9, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2013 The forts are wonderful to view. It's especially nice sail into San Juan harbor on a beautiful day to be on deck and sail past the fort. We never tire of that view.
