Hyatt House in dania beach.

I stayed at Hyatt place 17th st a year ago for 46 per night priceline. In Jan 2014 I am paying 169 and feel lucky. It is high season and a desire able hotel. Have you tried the Sleep Inn in Dania Beach? Free shuttle and it was 109 fir Jan 2014. Might be higher now. We stayed there last month and it was quite acceptable. Good restaurant across the street and a Publix for last minute purchases. Free wifi and breakfast and great staff. Good luck with your search.

We always use Priceline or Hotwire in FL and have never been disappointed. We typically score great deals for 4 star properties.

Another vote for the Embassy suites, free breakfast (eveything imaginable plus more) evening cocktails free--crowded, but a freebie.

 

Close to the wine and Publix for last minute shopping.........

Every hotel near the port is $200 plus in Jan 2014. Anybody found anything else?

 

I would try Hotwire if you can get a 4 Star Hotel near the Port for $85-$100 then go ahead and book it if you know the exact date and are willing to be "locked in" for your stay.
