I'm on Sensation now. I was upgraded from a 1A interior upper/lower to an ocean view and didn't find out until I got checked in. Yay! I love my platinum sail and sign card. Gonna finish up my lunch and find a DOD! :-)

Wow, so ironic I see you post this today. I spent 4 hours yesterday reading both your Valor Reviews!! They were wonderful. Have sailed her in 2008 but booked again for November 2014.

It would be nice if Carnival would see fit to upgrade THIS Platinum cruiser. I sail 2-3 times a year, often solo, and have only ever even received two upSELL calls (which I didn't take).

 

Kind of thought maybe I'd get a surprise upgrade on my Conquest cruise - the ship wasn't near to being full and I was sailing solo for my birthday. But noooooo! Not me!

 

I really don't think being Platinum has anything to do with anything (involving upgrades/upsells). I really don't.

 

But I'm greedy. I don't want an OV. I prefer an inside that's nice and dark at night. But I'd take a free upgrade to a suite, just for fun! :p

Yeah, I traveled on the sensation Halloween week and got the same deal. I mentioned it in the review I posted afterwards also. It was an appreciated gesture. They apparently had emailed the notification to me a few days prior but I was busy and never saw it. It sure was a nice surprise though. I got a midship cabin on upper. So yes, last minute upgrades DO happen.

:cool:I think that Carnival is starting to realize how important those of us who cruise a LOT, and spread the word about how much we enjoy our Carnival cruises, are! Just off "Paradise" where I was upgraded from an inside, to an Ocean View, free, and a few months back, when sailing "Breeze", we were upgraded, at the pier from an inside to an OCEAN SUITE! How sweet that was! I've always received excellent service from Carnival, but as noted, recently they've been upgrading, when they have empty cabins.
