Really thought that was for fruits and vegetables not prepared foods. I don't want to have both hands too occupied, people sometimes don't look where they are going. I use a plastic collapsible plate cover, that will fit fine on either the round plate or on the big platter. The other hand opens doors, etc. without a lot of fuss.
