joteacher Posted December 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2013 We're coming up on our 7th NCL cruise and I've always been an active member of our roll call. With just over a month to go, there are only a few people on the roll call. Is this because the Sky is a shorter cruise? I really enjoy meeting people from the roll call, and going to the M&G, but it doesn't seem like the Sky roll calls are very active... ~Joanne

shelly11 Posted December 30, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 30, 2013 I've been on 4 cruises and none of them had a big roll call. Only one was enough to set up and meet and greet and even half of them didn't show up. My guess is many still don't know or want to participate in roll call/meet and greet even though I found it fun. jdvmd Posted December 30, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 30, 2013 It is such a short cruise, I think people don't want to take the time away from the cruise itself to do Meet and Greet, roll call types of things.

This is why we don't do roll calls. We just don't have time.
Cubechick Posted December 30, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 30, 2013 I also think it's just "hit or miss". For my upcoming Gem cruise, we have over 100 roll call members...a friend sailing the Gem a month later says her roll call is completely dead. You just never know... Jagggg Posted December 30, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 30, 2013 I'm on the same cruise as you are, but decided not to participate in the Roll Call because it is such a short cruise. Also, we are traveling with 2 other couples, so decided we will be busy with them.

Markanddonna Posted December 30, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 30, 2013 The only roll calls I'm involved in are the ones for transatlantics or possible anything at least two weeks. It is nice when your trip is complicated and you would enjoy others sharing rides or port excursions. These have been valuable relationships.
