CDG Layover time

Departing from a cruise in June, we will have a flight from Germany to CDG. There is one option that has a 1 hr 5 min layover at CDG. The departing flight will be to the US. All will be on Delta. Do the non-Schengen fights depart from a different terminal than the Germany - CDG flight even though they are the same airline? Will we have to go through security again as well? There is another flight, but the layover is 3 1/2 hours, so would rather get home earlier if this is possible.

A little reading on the Cruise Air board would not recommend this as it is very tight.

Can't answer your questions about Terminal changes (I suspect they will require a Terminal change), but CDG is known for requiring long connection times, and yes, there should be additional security for a US direct flight.

Your Germany to CDG flight won't be on Delta. Don't believe Delta does any intra Europe flights. Probably code shared on Air France metal. Edited by CruiserBruce

The Cruise Air board could probably answer your specific questions. We like Air France, but CDG can be somewhat user vicious. If I recall correctly all flights might be in what is called terminal 2, but the letters attached to the terminals (2E as opposed to 2D) actually are like a terminal change.

We flew into CDG in September and then had another flight to Marseille.
This involved a change from Terminal 2C to Terminal 2E and it was a very, very long walk. There is no way that we could have done it with a 1hr 5min turnaround.
As well as the long walk to the other terminal, our luggage carousel for the incoming flight was changed halfway through the delivery so all those whose luggage had not already come through had to move to another area to retrieve our luggage. This created a further delay.
I believe that you will need most of the 3 1/2 hrs and would definitely book the later plane.

I am glad you decided on the later flight. The above description is totally accurate. CDG is transfer hell imho. LHR isn't much better, but at least they have good signage.
