Location of Port in St. Peterburg Russia

Can anyone who has traveled on a Russian river cruise tell me where your ship docked in St. Peterburg?

We just booked with Uniworld for this coming September and trying to determine a close location for a hotel.

At this point in time, Uniworld won't comment.

Appreciate any help.

We were on the Viking Helgi in September. We were tied up with the Uniworld ship and walked through it's lobby, so at least for 2013 Viking and Uniworld used the same port. The port address for us in St. Petersburg was:

Salt Pier

Oktiabrskaya Nab. 29

193079

Our pre-cruise info from Viking showed a map of the location. It is on the Neva River southeast of the main area of St. Petersburg. Just past the Volodarskiy Most bridge. It was only a ten minute drive from the airport when we arrived as the airport is south of town. However, for our trips into and out of St. Petersburg it took at least 45 minutes (if we were lucky) and an hour and a half if we were not. This was due to traffic and road construction. Being docked south of town was however nice for our two excursions to Peterhof and Catherine's Palace as they are west and south of town respectively.

I hope this helps.

But to go to the Hermitage and the Peter and Paul Fortress, you will have to brave the traffic.

On returning from one tour, we were next to the Neva in the vicinity of the bridge with 4 horses. A lady walking along with a maroon coat passed our bus 3 times!

There were 2 different areas where ships docked when we went on our Russian River cruise. We (AMA) docked near the Volodarskiy Most bridge. There were only 2 or 3 ships there when we were there. There was a location slightly closer to downtown that we passed that had several more river boat ships there. It wasn't close to downtown but we passed it on our way to downtown area.

This is the wording from the link I posted above. Last year there was a free transfer bus from the dock to the metro station.

River Station (Rechnoy Vokzal)

The River Station welcomes river cruises from Moscow and the Russian North, and is located in the far south-east of St. Petersburg on Prospekt Obukhovskoy Oborony. It is a little under ten minutes' walk from the terminal to Proletarskaya Metro Station (coming off the boat, turn left and follow the road straight around 400m). Proletarskaya is on the green line, five stops from Mayakovskaya on Nevsky Prospekt. If you would rather travel in the comfort of a taxi, we recommend either booking a transfer, or phoning one of these recommended taxi companies on arrival, as trying to find a taxi on the street will be difficult and/or expensive.
