taxi from Pt. Everglades to FLL

A little reading on the board would reveal the taxi fare from the airport to the port is about $15, for as many people as you can get in the cab, not $15 per person like Carnival, so even for a couple, you save 50%.

The rate is not fixed.

Is it flat rate and if not, how much have you paid in the past?

The service offered by Carnival is only $15. Would I do substantially better with a taxi?

It is not a flat rate and be sure that the driver uses the meter. Many taxi's try to claim it's a flat rate but that just isn't true. The fare by the meter should be about $12-$14. The main advantage with a taxi is you go when you are ready. If you go with the Carnival shuttle you will have to wait for it to fill up before it will leave for the airport. So I guess just go with what is easier for you....

AND the coach bus will stop at all airlines departure doors to unload liggage and passengers.

Take a cab!!! You can be at the airport before the bus even leaves the port.

we just took a taxi in early december, it was right around $16 (a little traffic, there was construction at the port). But there were 4 adults in the taxi, so MUCH cheaper than the Carnival shuttle which is $15 per person and you have to wait for the short bus to fill up, so you could be waiting 30 min or so.

Super easy to get a taxi! Follow the signs near baggage claim, and there will be someone organizing rides.
