We are thinking about a B to B cruise on RCCL Liberty of the Seas

Wondering if we do not have the same cabin for both what is the route we must go ?

We would like to get off the ship and restock wines etc..since we will be following with a T / A

You will have to pack up all your belongings that are not hanging so the stateroom attendant can move your bags to the new stateroom. You should talk with the new stateroom attendant during the first cruise so that they can possibly get your stateroom ready early and you can use it after the changeover.

When I did B2B on the Mariner here's what happened. I have seen that it varies some by ship and itinerary -- mine was in Europe, so it could easily be different for you). I spoke with my cabin steward about it before the first cruise ended. He asked that I pack up all my stuff (including the hanging clothes) and just leave it with him on the last day. He notified the steward for the 2nd cabin that I was a through passenger. He also made sure my bags were put in the new cabin that morning. The ship had left me instructions on what to do the day before. In my case, they had all B2B passengers meet in a lounge at 9am on the last day of the 1st cruise. This part took longer than I would have liked, but they kept us together until all other passengers were off the ship that were supposed to be. Then they took us down to the gangway and processed us off one cruise and on to the next one, including giving us new sea pass cards. I think in the States, they also process you thru Customs/Immigration. We did not do that in Europe, however. At that point, we were told we could either return to the ship (our cabins were not yet ready, however) or we could go ashore and return later in the day. I left the ship. Upon return, I did not have to go thru checkin, but still needed to go thru security. I just showed my sea pass card and told them I was a through passenger. I then found my new cabin ready to go and my luggage already in the room ready for me to unpack

Things can vary depending on certain factors. Between the legs of our one and only B2B, the crew had to go through a periodic customs review [or something like that] so we had to get off and re-board. But they let us stay in the D, D+ area with snacks and drinks even though we were only gold at the time. I have read posts by others where they were allowed to stay aboard.

We did not have to change cabins, but the day before turn around, our cabin attendant sought me out to make sure we knew exactly what needed to be done even if we did have to change. As others have said, they will move your stuff, but you typically have to pack things you don't want to carry or are not hanging in the closet. They will move hanging items on a valet rack. On the whole, I think I would take a slightly less desirable cabin to avoid the move, but (a) I am not particulalry picky and (b) even if you have to move [and we did not] I don't think it is a big issue [at least compared to having to go home like the other poor slobs on your first cruise].

During the turn around, they told us where to be and had someone escort us all the way through. They took pretty good care of us. It was no big hassle. I imagine it is inevitable that there will be glitches from time to time, but from our experience and what I have read here, that appears to be an exception to the rule.

One question. Why the thumbs down about a process before you have even tried it?

I am just curious as why you have a "thumbs down" icon on your post? When I first saw it I thought you were unhappy at the prospect of a B2B and had complains?

on our b2b on Liberty we did change rooms. We went from deck six promenade port side to balcony starboard side deck 6.

it was very easy. i carried our stuff with our room attendant. the new room was not ready but didn't matter. we dropped our stuff off went to viking lounge and waited to get new sea passes. walked off the ship and right back on. went to our room and took a nap.

S/he posted the same thread on "Ask a Question" (general board) with the same thumbs down icon. Too bad - a B2B is incredible!!

Because we live in the UK, the air flight to North America for a single week cruise makes the costs quite high so we are lucky to be in the position to plan B2B cruises. We have been once on Freedom, once on Oasis and will be enjoying Jewel this summer, all B2B

We love B2B! There is nothing more relaxing than knowing on the last night of the cruise, when everyone is packing up, you don't need too! (or minimally if you are changing rooms) Then, as everyone is leaving, there is that special couple of hours when the pools are deserted and you have the ship practically to yourself. Magic! Our children even got the chance to have a quick dip in the Solarium pool (there was NO ONE around and we left very quickly) which was a memory they still talk about.

The only 'negative' on B2B is that you may have the same menu both weeks. But we looked upon this as a great opportunity! We have all our favourite foods the first week and then explore unusual dishes in the second. Same for the shows. During the second week, unless we really want to see the show again, we explore other parts of the ship.

We have never had to move rooms as we try when we book to get the same room for both weeks. If possible, I would recommend this option.

On both of our B2B we have left the ship (or order that they can get a 'zero count'), passed through a couple of checks and then back on. We have been offered special lunches on both occasions. A couple of days before the end of the first cruise you are usually given a letter in your stateroom outlining all the details.

We have a B2B in May and want to know if we check in for both cruises at port when we first get there? Because we used a NCC for the second cruise, we have 2 reservation numbers. The second res does list cruise 1 and cruise 2 though. How does check in work with a B2B?

Thanks,

Thanks,

You will only check-in at the terminal for the first cruise. The ship's people will check you in for the second cruise and give you a new SeaPass card.

We did a B2B on the Allure in October. The only ones who had to report to the lounge were the people who wanted to get back on the ship right away. We got off the ship and went into Ft. Lauderdale to "stock up". When we got back to the terminal, we showed our "In Transit" card that was given to us at the B2B meeting the day before, and was ushered to the next available agent who gave us our new sea pass card and on the ship we went. We had the same room.

We did a B2B on the Celebrity Solstice, last year where we had to change cabins. As stated above, we talked to our current steward, and our new steward, and they transferred all our stuff for us. We had to pack everything not on hangers into suitcases though. This was in Barcelona. We were off the ship by 8am and got back about 1:30.

We are also doing a back to back on Allure in March and as we have never been to Florida before I was hoping to do some kind of tour/trip on the changeover day.

We have the same room for both weeks. can you advise if you were able to leave fairly early & what sort of time would you need to be back at the ship?

If anyone has any experience of this or any tips of trips we could do, I'd welcome them.
