My1Day.com Posted January 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2014 If you or someone you know is a TA....do you/they get commission on booking a shore excursion for you? I don't want numbers of what they get or anything like that to keep us ALL out of hot water. But it was mentioned to me that she can do this for me....and I just wondered if it would help her out. Thanks!!

cmitch9999 Posted January 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) yes, they will get a bit of commission for booking their shore ex thru you-- this is for independent shore ex companies, not sure if thru the cruise line Edited January 8, 2014 by cmitch9999

Rare jimbo5544 Posted January 8, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 8, 2014 Carnival (or any other major cruise line) do not give commission to TA's for (their) excursions. While it is possible that a TA could receive commission from an independant excursion they book for you outside of the cruise itself, I have never heard of that occuring either. My1Day.com Posted January 8, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted January 8, 2014 Gotcha, thanks. It was for the Carnival excursions so she just must be going up and beyond in service. Esp if nothing extra is in it for her. Thanks once again!

LWiening Posted January 8, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 8, 2014 Agents don't get commision through Carnival. But if they book another company they may. Your agent is doing her job by offering to book the excursion. Allot of agents book the cruise ,hotel, airlines and insurance and stop there. A great agent will tell you about the excursions and what to do in port.

jakeT Posted January 14, 2014 #14 Share Posted January 14, 2014 Yes with an outside company. They would only book with company's that give commission. They have to make a living too
