Thai Herbal Poultice Massage?

Hi cruisergrandma,

I have not done the Thai Herbal Poultice Massage on Carnival, but did it on another cruise line. Since the spas are run by the same company they're probably identical. I enjoyed it very much but it can be a bit painful. I do like deep tissue, so that could account for why it hurt though. I don't think I would qualify it as relaxing even if you did ask for light pressure, though.

Hope that helps.

It'll certainly smell better than a hot stone:D And the steamed wrap used might give some warming effects. Go buy into the "ancient use" "internal organ alignment" or "healing of disease" fallacies though. All massages do help in relaxing tight muscles making you feel more relaxed. Beyond that is pure conjecture.

I had this treatment on royal and loved it!! The pressure was just right, it smelled good, and I think they were a little warm too! Plus, after the treatment I got to take the poultice home! I would definately do it again. I actually did the hot stone massage on my Victory cruise last fall, and would choose the poultice before the hot stone.
