GoVikes Posted January 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2014 You can purchase wine/beer at grocery stores on Saturday's at any time. Liquor is only at liquor stores(they also have beer and wine). Spec's is the liquor store we prefer. As for food, what do you like? Steak, Tex-Mex, Asian...? So many different options in Houston. :)
PUGSLEYTAZ Posted January 17, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted January 17, 2014 Thanks for the info. So can we purcahse liquor (at liquor stores) at any time on a Saturday like beer and wine? As for food, no true preference. Is there someplace locally that is 'can't miss'. Somewhere we can just relax for a bit and get good food, reasonably prices. I see lots of options at the boarkwalk near the port but my experience with places like that is that they are mostly comercial chains and usually overpriced because of location. Thanks again for posting!

We are not getting in until 10:30 pm. What is the earliest you can buy wine on Sunday!

hockeygal54 Posted January 23, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 23, 2014 I thought state law was no beer/wine after midnite on Sat. Of course liquor stores close 2100 and not open on Sunday @ all. I could be wrong about the midnite thing tho. Been years since I had to make a 2345 run to a 7-11 store!!
