We just booked a princess cruise to Alaska. I've been reading alot of the boards trying to get as much info as possible. Can anyone tell me where I can find the soda card info on the website? And what other extras do you pay for onboard (other than the spa area). Dining? Expresso? etc.

thanks for any info.. it's greatly appreciated.

Soda Sticker info (there are 2 packages available) is on this "Princess Cellars" list. You need to call and charge a credit card, or buy on board.

Espresso is 1.75 a shot, specialty Coffee drinks are more. Using the Café Selects card (at the bottom of this list) for a coffee drink comes to $2.22 per punch after gratuity is charged.

Generally, you don't pay for dining, except in the specialty restaurants, and I think there's a small charge for a whole pizza delivered to your stateroom. Drinks you pay for are soda, brewed coffee and specialty coffee drinks, also "gourmet" teas, ice cream dishes (ice cream in the dining rooms and soft-serve cones are free) And alcohol, of course!

The soda card is actually a sticker they put on your seapass that allows you unlimited fountain drinks (coca cola, sprite, etc). You have to buy it the first day of the cruise and they will have tables set up in front of the HC (buffet) and other public areas. You have to buy it for the entire cruise so for a 7 day cruise, the price will be 7 x $5.18/day. They also offer a more inclusive soda package that is $8.05/day. Depending on the ship you sail there will be at least two specialty restaurants which includes an Italian one and a steak one that are extra. Fancy coffee (think Starbucks type) is extra as is Italian Gelato.

If you order a pizza through room service, there will be a charge. The pizza at the pizzeria on the Lido deck is always free and quite good.

They can be purchased individually and can only be used by/for the purchasing individual.

Do you know if both people in the cabin have to have the card or can only one? We were on Carnival and everyone in the cabin had to buy the drink card. thanks for the info.

Actually, for Alaska the shore excursions are the pricey part. Especially if you get one of the floatplane or helicopter excursions. Worth it, but will make your onboard charges look tiny.

Also, if you are extending your cruise with a few days in Alaska, be aware that food is very expensive there. Subway in Denali is around 8.50 minimum. Burgers at the Denali Princess are $22 (although big enough to share).

not quite. fish tacos at Salmon Bake, across from the lodge were around $12, fed both of us. and the mt mckinley margeritas were only 8 bucks and took 2 hours to drink, hence the fish tacos. still light out at midnight...

Thanks for the info. We plan on doing the helicopter ride. That's as far as we've gotten. This is our first Princess cruise, and the first cruise for my parents/brother and his wife. Long way to July!
