daveoc Posted January 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Having seen that both Celebrity and NCL now have forms of 'ultimate dining' packages I was wondering if RCCL do, or are introducing, anything similar?.
Rare LMaxwell Posted January 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) They do have a number of pre-pay packages depending on the ship that offer specialty restaurants at a reduced group price. It is similar but not the same as Norwegians new UDP which, frankly, looks appealing to me. It is a very shrewd business move; getting the money up front before the cruise and letting guests self-regulate when or if they use the venues. I see it as a way of increasing the cruise fare and reducing MDR costs/waste. Edited January 21, 2014 by LMaxwell
cruisenfever Posted January 21, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) Whoops, I thought it said "ultimate drinking" packages!:o Here's the link to that if you're interested http://media.royalcaribbean.com/content/royal/en_US/pdf/beverage_packages.pdf Edited January 21, 2014 by cruisenfever
Rare LMaxwell Posted January 21, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Have you see this link http://media.royalcaribbean.com/content/royal/en_US/pdf/beverage_packages.pdf ? That's for drinks. OP is asking about dining. Norwegian just announced a new scheme to pre-pay for unlimited access to specialty dining. I believe it is for dinner only, and is not applicable to their top restaurant or to the a la carte venues. However, if you eat in specialty dining 5 or more times it probably represents a big savings versus without the package.

We are thinking of doing a transatlantic in the autumn and IOTS has the best itinerary but NCL Epic has the ultimate dining option---decisions,decisions!.
