What is wrong with Independence?

Indepence 8 days is one cruise what we are considering doing next winter. So I am wondering why does she constantly gets so bad reviews? We are considering it mainly because of its gym, running track, boxing ring and itinerary of course. Why does so many people feel disappointed after Indy cruise? Wondering if she is wrong choice for us... What is your experience?

We have cruised Indy 9 times everyone has a right to their views on something.

Our thoughts on this ship are only good ones, the food has been very satisfying and the gym has done me proud too.

While the UK are greatly anticipating the new Anthem, however it's unfortunately at the expense of losing Indy.

Advise is, go with your own gut feeling.

It would seem that this thread started out with the glass being half empty...only finding out from many others that it's actually quite full. :D

We'll enjoy INDY firsthand in about 6 weeks.

Indy is a beautiful ship and provides a very nice cruise experience. There is, however, nothing wrong with pointing out some of the flaws.

We heard "no" first day more than on any other ship. No, they didn't serve breakfast at Johnny Rockets (on this ship). No, two for one was for diamond + and up only. No they didn't have tempurpedic pillows.

Never having sailed on Independence, we didn't know if this was the norm. But after the first day, we pretty much stopped asking for anything unusual, and things improved.

More nickel and dime cutbacks. No more pad and pen, and we got only two glasses, where we used to get four. Obviously trying to become more "GREEN" but they kept burying us in ads for spa treatments, shops on board and alcohol.

Oasis and Allure are the only ships that serve breakfast at Johnny Rockets. The BOGO specialty restaurant coupon has always been for D+/PC. It's the same on all RCI ships. Cutbacks are on all ships, not just Indy.
