Deployment schedule: let the guessing begin!

Recommended Posts

Honestly it sounds like she doesn't know what she's talking about. I think that was a roundabout way of saying "I don't know."

I'm keeping my hopes up that we get something in New Orleans, but I'm not expecting anything :(.

I certainly wasn't going to say it. lol

Ha !

Perhaps Galveston needs that long to do the terminal updates and, I believe, some dredging prior to the announced arrival of a larger ship.

This is the best of all worlds for us!

November will be perfect for our schedule!

In the open public financial records of Port of Galveston,

in the Capital Investment Plan 2014-2015

$11,050,000 will be spent on Expansion and Improvements

to RCL Terminal #2

to be completed in April 2015.

Most likely they are behind schedule.

The contractual agreement is....

Galveston complete terminal for larger than RCL Voyager Class ship.

By agreement the terminal project is already in process.

A larger ship is coming to Galveston! Which one?

As far as dredging RCL is not waiting on that!

Comparison of RCL Class Ships to Galveston Port Channel

Overall

Class Length Ft* Draft Ft

Voyager 1021 29

Quantum 1142 29

Freedom 1112 29

Oasis 1181 31

Galveston Port Channel

Narrowest” Width 1200 (it is much wider)

Minimum Depth 45

* not at waterline and relative to turn around

Up the Galveston channel towards Houston Ship Channel is a turning basin,

between the Ferry Landing and Yacht Club.

Ships turn around there sometimes now.

There is presently ample width space and ample depth there.

Also see a web site about Marinas Texas,

that has an aerial view reflecting same ample space in Galveston Channel.

I am anxiously waiting Quantum summer itineraries to come available. Could it be that RC is going to surprise us somehow? Otherwise why haven't they released cruises, if it just Bahamas and usual Caribbean ports?

They don't have much sailings in South America.

It would be great if they have longer sailing in that region like 10-14 days

The South America cruises also due to go on sale this week also.

Rhapsody appears to be doing the normal 7 day cruises according to port schedules from Santos.

A few Royal cruises around the Horn would be great.

Anthem of the Seas Alaska 2016?

There appear to be some ship movements coming in November / December 2015. We should know this week.

While Brilliance and Vision both return to Tampa. It looks like Brilliance may pick up some sort of variable pattern with 5 and 7 night sailings.

There are some clues that Vision may move after a few weeks in Tampa, but completely unconfirmed. She might move to another Florida port if not remaining in Tampa.

Navigator appears set until November for Galveston, but where Liberty will be is not certain. She does show up in Cayman from December, which could be a Galveston move or even a Florida deployment.

We will not know until actual itineraries are released.
