First time to Barbados!

Hi there all.

As the title says this is our first trip to Barbados, we're having a week all inclusive before we cruise the South Caribbean.

Just a few questions.

We want to do quite a bit of sight seeing as we may never come back again due to our long bucket list! What is the best tour to see sights and maybe visit different towns etc, the wife likes shopping so a few shops would be nice.

We're staying at Hastings, near Bridgetown, is it safe for us to venture into town after dark? Are there any no go areas that we should avoid? If there are such areas is it possible to stumble into these?

Are there any Bridgetown bars we should make sure we visit?

Is Barbados/Bridgetown having problems regarding mosquito's as St Martin is?

A lot of questions but it's our first trip and don't want to spoil it!

Regards.

GINGERWILDCAT.

Barbados is one of our favorite islands to visit. We have spent many 1 week vacations there in the last 30 years!

St. Lawrence Gap is sure different than it used to be (I'm talking 30 years ago)....but certainly a place to visit for dinner/drinks.

If you are at all "adventurous", I would suggest renting a car (mini moke) for the day or several days and drive all over the island. We usually don't miss much on that island.

You might want to visit Harrison's Caves. There is also an out of the way "Flower Cave" (I think that was the name of it) that is interesting.

The people of Barbados are so friendly.

Have a great time!
