My first time for a "LIVE" review. Not sure I know what I'm doing but this will be fun learning.

I'm sure you have figured it out. A member like Radio is giving a review as it's happening.

They are usually pretty good, and Radio has quite a following for his efforts.

Are you late leaving? It's after 5 and it seems you are still in port!

What cabin are you in this time?

Anxiously awaiting more to get me through this Michigan winter....

It seems that we will be leaving a little later than scheduled. (5:45) There was a delay caused from potable water. . .

Looks like a 500kw - 750kw rental Cat generator they mounted to the deck to provide redundancy for the hotel and SOLAS services/functions of the ship. Good to know, this is a option, should it be needed until a more permanent solution can be deployed in the engine room during the dry dock.

I have been on the Pride twice & I'm interested in knowing if you cabin on 8 is noisy being under the pool deck & buffet?????????????? last time we were on 5 and really enjoyed our balcony room closer to the water - thought 8 may be noisy...had that problem on a RCI ship with the "rolling carts" on the tile floor underneath the Park Cafe..NEVER want to do that again

enjoy your cruise!! I LOVE the layout of The Pride

Radio -

I've sailed the Pride several times; love her and hope you have a great time.

I just dropped my daughter off at college on the Maryland Eastern Shore. On way home I crossed over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge at 6:30 pm. Had hoped to see you pass under, but I missed you!! :-/

At what time did you sail under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge??

DW and myself have traveled on the Pride twice and have stayed in room 8195 both times. we love the room, it's midship and we haven't had any issues with noise from deck 9.:D

I can see why Carnival will be adding "scrubbers" to the exhaust systems!

Nah, this is common for every ship with that kind of fuel propulsion system. Have you ever seen a tractor trailer cab, or a large passenger bus exhaust when they first start cold engines?

I doubt an untrained eye could detect the difference in fuel mixtures by sight of the exhaust.

Hello everyone . . . Carnival Pride left the pier slowly at 6PM. A few last minute passengers boarded at about 5PM, and we were told that there was a service disruption from potable water delivery. . .

The Captain for this sailing is Captain Francesco Borgogna, and the Cruise Director is Kirk Benning. We have already passed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge at about 730PM but we won’t be in the Ocean until early morning. It will take us many hours to navigate down the Bay, and we will drop off the Pilot by about 5AM.

During Breakfast tomorrow we will be in the Atlantic Ocean. I expect it to still be extremely cold, each hour will bring us to some warmer temperatures. . .There were no sail away activities outside. (Even the Muster Drill was held inside)

It is very cold out now, and the seas are still calm as we will be in the Bay all night, but tomorrow is a coin toss. I have sailed past Cape Hatteras many times, and sometimes it is very calm while on many occasions the seas have been very rough.

My cabin is up on Deck 8 (STB/ FWD), and my home for the week is appointed nicely. There is plenty of room (Balcony 8E) and I should sleep like a baby tonight.

The Welcome Aboard Show is later tonight, and I will be in attendance . . . right after I check out the Players Club Casino. . . Here are a few pics from Sailaway. . .

Thanks for tuning in.

More pics tomorrow. . .

Muster drill was in the Taj Mahal Theater, but we had to line up on the Promenade deck to enter.
