wxguyinms Posted January 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2014 Can you close the covers on the forward porthole cabins? If so, does it darken the cabin completely -- like an inside cabin?
pauleydm Posted January 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2014 You can close them and it will darken the room. However, the drapes do an excellent job in darkening the room:)
ragen Posted January 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2014 They can be opened and closed, making it dark like an Inside, however they are much heaver than you'd think, (Cast Iron, probably about 35 pounds each), so you must basically climb up into the window-seal just to get enough leverage to re-open them unless you're a quite tall person.)

SAM527 Posted January 26, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2014 I never closed the porthole covers, never thought about doing that since they looked like they would be a challenge anyway. I just closed the curtains like I was in a regular window cabin and all was fine.
Elaine5715 Posted January 26, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 26, 2014 Light still leaks in around the curtains. Not even close to being pure dark like an inside cabin.
