Porthole cabin question

They can be opened and closed, making it dark like an Inside, however they are much heaver than you'd think, (Cast Iron, probably about 35 pounds each), so you must basically climb up into the window-seal just to get enough leverage to re-open them unless you're a quite tall person.):cool:

I never closed the porthole covers, never thought about doing that since they looked like they would be a challenge anyway. I just closed the curtains like I was in a regular window cabin and all was fine.
