cruise1804 Posted January 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2014 Hi there going to St Thomas in April and just worked out there will be 5 ships docked when we go there! Really worried its just going to be crazy busy everywhere as we also don't dock until midday (RCI FOS). Would like to have done a bit of shopping (well as much as you can with 3 kids in tow!) and then afternoon at the beach, thinking Emerald Beach as sounds quite near to get to from port etc. Think now though by the time we do anything we either won't get into shops as to crowded and all beach chairs will be gone! Any advice would be fantastic. Thank you.
Ms411 Posted January 28, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2014 It won't be crazy crowded in town, because those who came in earlier will have already left. You're on FOS so should dock at Havensight. The closest beaches - Emerald and Morningstar, are large enough so that nobody feels crowded. Coki and Magens will probably be more crowded than beaches mentioned. blue_water Posted January 29, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2014 (edited) The shopping areas could be busy with folks from the other ships shopping after taking tours and those from your ship, hard to say really. But if you are in port a few hours later than the other ships both the beaches and town should be less crowded later. Since Lindbergh Bay (aka Emerald) is on the other side of town you would want to go there first and shop on the way back so you're not carrying everything to the beach. Or you could shop right at Havensight before or after going to Morningstar which is much closer. Here is a map showing the location of the beaches as compared to Havensight. http://www.virginislandsthisweek.com/us_virgin_islands_maps/st_thomas_island_road_map.html#.UujlS2s8KK0 Either way enjoy your day!
