rhkennerly Posted February 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2014 We will be on QM2 M404 West Bound May 09 2014 We will arrive about a week early at Heathrow. Ship departs South Hampton. We want to gypsy around the UK without dragging the full TA formal dress kit everywhere. I'm looking for CURRENT first-hand knowledge, suggestions and experiences on how to deal with this. White Star shipping/handling seems outrageously expensive, if convenient. If we fly in with the full kit, maybe 3 suitcases, what are our luggage storage options? Around Heathrow? Around London? Around South Hampton? Are there ship ahead and store services we haven't considered?

Any other ideas out there?
jimmybean Posted February 11, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2014 I checked out White Star several months ago and learned it's important to arrange this service well in advance. Cost varies depending on where bag is picked up and where it is delivered. Obviously, picked up in England and delivered to Southampton would be less expensive than if picked up in the USA and delivered to Southampton. Call Cunard and ask to be connected to the "White Star lady." She is very good at explaining the particulars. Learn your options before making a decision. Using this service could certainly take the "hassle factor" out of the equation. Throwing out another idea, if you stay at the same hotel at the beginning and end of your stay in England, maybe you could leave your bag at the hotel... See you on the ship : )
Rare rafinmd Posted February 11, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 11, 2014 For a cheaper White Star service, could you have them pick it up at your first UK hotel. Roy
