not usually , they will be available to take reservations for the cruise.

That is a definite shame. They charge more for this "11th" day that we aren't allowed to use.

We were able to use our Retreat Cabana on the NA on embarkation day in December. Cabana boys John and Gerber welcomed us with open arms!

Called ship services and I was assured that one we were aboard we could use our family retreat cabana. Just have to break for muster drill.

They are normally available for use from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We did not linger too long after sail away as we did not want to keep the Cabana team away from their other duties.

Would you consider a Retreat Cabana a waste of money or a good investment in Northern Europe? I was considering getting one when we do our Norwegian Fjords cruise as we have several days of scenic cruising, but wasn't sure if I should bother?

As someone who has done more Norway cruises than I can count, let me jump in here.

I don't think a Retreat cabana is worth the cost when there is as much scenic cruising as Norway offers. The cabana is closed in, so the views will be limited. You can go out into the open area of the Retreat, but there is so much open area that doesn't cost anything, why spend that kind of money?

 

In Norway, you are likely to get "liquid sunshine", fog, wind, and chills. It's nice to be able to find a spot outdoors that's open to the views, yet sheltered. You can bundle up in your jacket, and even the blankets offered, and enjoy.
