wvdleek Posted July 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2005 Today the new owners of the s.s. Rotterdam made public that on July 15 the actual management of the ship was taken over from Port of Rotterdam. Vuyk Engineering of Rotterdam is supervising the refurbishment. Many plans and suggestions were sent to the new owners. During the coming months these will be selected on quality and financial strongness. The plans involved concern hotel and restaurants, congress-organization, tourism and entertainment. The Albeda College starts developing an organization for working and teaching on the ship. Rotterdam Posted July 23, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2005 That's great news - my favorite ship - will be saved. We lost some other greats - The FRANCE - I look forward to walking Roterdam's decks once again!
sinned Posted July 30, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 30, 2005 We took this ship out of Batimore, Maryland in the summer of 2000. It was sailing then as the Rembrandt. Although they had some problems with the air conditioning it was a beautiful ship and we have many fond memories of that cruise. Glad to hear she will be preserved!
