Mist_ynight Posted February 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2014 I'm looking at a cruise for Feb 2015. It's been a few years since we have been able to afford a cruise so I'm not going another year without one. I was thinking about booking now since we have FCC to use but the prices are a little high. I would really like to have something booked so I have something to look forward to, even though it's over a year away. Should I wait and see if prices go down or should I book it and hope to get the price reduced if the prices do go down?
paul929207 Posted February 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2014 In most cases, until final payment, you can get your booking re-fared if the rates go down. By the same token, you will not get hit with any price increases.
smitty3000 Posted February 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2014 Better selection of cabin too if you book early, plus getting the dining time you want. Early dining seems to go faster.
OCruisers Posted February 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) It's not too early we are already booked of a 14 night January 2015 so we could get a cabin of our choice. Glad we did because there were only three left in the category and location we wanted. LuLu ~~~ Edited February 16, 2014 by OCruisers
Ehpride Posted February 16, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2014 I'm in the book early and look for price drops camp. We booked our Nov. 2014 cruise almost a year and a half in advance. I also booked pre and post cruise hotels as soon as I could. Those have done nothing but go up. It also helps to spread out costs. cruiserking Posted February 16, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2014 Another vote for booking now. You get first dibs on cabin location, dining times and have something to look forward to. Keep your eyes peeled for discounts and you'll save some bucks. Jonathan

navybankerteacher Posted February 18, 2014 #8 Share Posted February 18, 2014 Not only do you get better choice of dining time and cabins, you enjoy the anticipation and can make related plans - tours, pre- and post - stays, travel to port, hotel, etc. Also, if you have the money, it's not as though you will earn a lot of interest by keeping it in your savings account - and, in most cases, you can take advantage of intervening price cuts. Mist_ynight Posted February 18, 2014 Author #9 Share Posted February 18, 2014 I booked! Thanks for the input! I got an aft balcony cabin on deck 10. I've always wanted an aft balcony so I'm really excited!
ehfl Posted February 18, 2014 #10 Share Posted February 18, 2014 We always book when we find a cruise we want. That way, we know there won't be a price increase, but can always take advantage of a price drop before final payment, or an upgrade after final payment.
