Tralfie Posted February 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2014 ... are there ice machines, like in a hotel? Hey, a guy has to plan for his balcony-set cocktails! (If you're nice, I"ll even invite you to join me) Richard/Tralfie
sailingnut Posted February 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2014 No ice machines that I know of~~your ice bucket is filled two times a day!:)
puddles99 Posted February 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2014 No, there are no self-service ice machines, but your room steward will be happy to keep you well stocked!

meatball_nyc Posted February 16, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2014 Not an odd question at all. I like a lot of ice, so I may bring a small collapsible cooler and let our steward know to keep it filled, especially at night for my wine bottle. When do you sail, Richard? We are on Breakaway this July to Bermuda and can't wait! Happy Cruising! kato92 Posted February 17, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 17, 2014 There are ice machines in the buffett for the drinks there. Might be faster than your steward or room service

I like a lot of ice, so I may bring a small collapsible cooler and let our steward know to keep it filled, especially at night for my wine bottle. That will probably work. Last year on the Gem my friends got a bucket of beer and every day the steward made sure it had fresh ice. They might not be willing for a huge ice chest but a small cooler should be fine. ksimpso3 Posted February 17, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) One of my favorite "perks" of the garden villa was our butler keeping a cooler full of ice for us. (I have a habit of eating ice, and we needed a supply for our frozen drinks too.):) I was one happy girl!! antsnanny Posted February 17, 2014 #10 Share Posted February 17, 2014 I like lots of ice and the ice buckets tend to be pretty small so I bring my own collapsable cooler, fill it in the buffet area and keep in it my mini refrigerator.

bob brown Posted February 17, 2014 #12 Share Posted February 17, 2014 One thing I would like to mention for those that are unaware.... Please do not put your cooler directly under the ice dispenser in the buffet, but rather, use a buffet glass or cup to transfer it.... Same applies to those with their own drinking cups...use a buffet cup to transfer water or juice from the dispenser to your personal cup.... Thankyou....:)

Wouldn't think of doing it any other way. Probably won't have to get ice from the buffet at all, as long as the steward replenishes twice a day we should be fine. Thanks all!
