kente Posted July 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2005 If you have a $200.00 onboard credit for a cruise and only spend $150.00 on the cruise, do you get a $50.00 credit on your credit card OR do you just lose the $50.00????
CaliforniaDreamin Posted July 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2005 Onboard credit is for onboard only. If they put it on your credit card you could use it anywhere. There are so many things to spend onboard credit on that it should not be a problem spending it all.
serene56 Posted July 21, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2005 On Royal caribbean and Carnival you got a check back the last day-which we cashed at the Pursers desk.
EGG Posted July 22, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 22, 2005 We were told we could use the onboard credit for tips on Celebrity. That should help take a big chunk out of the credit.
michmike Posted July 22, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 22, 2005 and if all else fails you could buy a few rounds for everyone in the bar on your last nite out. When did you say you were sailing? *L* But yes, typically if you don't spend it all, you lose it.
Cotton Posted July 22, 2005 #6 Share Posted July 22, 2005 I asked the purser that question on my last Carnival cruise. I had about $60 left in credit the last afternoon. He said they would issue me a check if I'd like to do it that way. I opt'd for buying two bottles of wine for my tablesmates and myself on the last evening!:)
Max Circus Posted July 22, 2005 #7 Share Posted July 22, 2005 On RCCL, go to the casino cash cage and withdraw the "credit" you have.
4merlurker Posted July 22, 2005 #8 Share Posted July 22, 2005 Are you talking about a credit awarded by RCCL or your own $$$ left on account? I will be "gifting" some $$ to my family for their cruise.....It is going on their account. If they dont use it rccl gets to keep it???? That doesnt sound right. I only asked because we have booked all of our exscursions on line and we are not real heavy drinkers. But, I am sure that on a 13 day cruise we will spend it on sometning. RevSmith Posted February 25, 2006 #10 Share Posted February 25, 2006 Say good-bye credit. If it was from a special credit card reward...I don't know what happens if it's a gift from a friend etc. I sure won't chance it.
CathyG Posted February 25, 2006 #11 Share Posted February 25, 2006 When we were on RCCL last year, we had shipboard credit left at the end of the cruise and it was posted to our credit card. Cathy
