Suggestions to do after cruise/before flight in Miami or FLL?

It'll just be my husband and me (late 40's). Getting off the Victory on a Saturday morning and renting a car from Miami airport and don't have to be at FLL until 6:30ish (8:40pm flight). Wanted a car so we didn't have to worry about luggage but have no clue what to do now. Any thoughts? Nice outdoor mall areas, beaches, anything else before we head back north to the cold and snow? Thanks for any ideas!

I would walk around South Beach and have lunch/drinks either there or on the boardwalk in Hollywood, then hit the beach for a couple of hours before heading for the airport.
