stormyweather44 Posted February 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2014 Have a balcony cabin on the Panorama deck on the Conquest in Dec. Does the Panorama overlook the Lido at some point? Can't figure out how the same resturant is on both floors. Would like to find a smoking area on the Lido so I can leave my balcony without having a nicotine fit. Anyone know where the smoking areas are on the Lido on the Conquest? Any others that are public? Thanks for the rescue!:):)
k2excursion Posted February 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) The lido deck has a main swimming pool with hot tubs right behind them. Then, as you move more to the forward of the ship, they have tiers leading up to higher decks. On each tier, there are deck chairs. So it's set up stadium style. At the base of the waterslide, where the smaller pool is, there are doors nearby, which lead inside to where your room will be. The base of the waterslide and that pool next to it are at Panorama deck level. It's all open to the lido deck area. You can either go down sections of stairs to the lido deck, or you can go off to the sides of Panorama deck, where you would overlook the main pool area. On your deck, near the midship elevators, there is a steakhouse, which costs extra. Near the back of the ship on your deck is a fish n chips area, which is open for lunch. The main buffet areas are downstairs on lido deck. If you want to see pics of the stadium style seating, go to cruisedeckplans.com & pull up your ship & the decks. Hover the mouse over a picture symbol, and user-supplied pics will appear. If your "restaurant on both floors" comment is in reference to the main dining room on decks 3 & 4, the deck 4 part of the restaurants have a big opening in the middle which overlook the deck 3 part. So there is room for a lot more people on Deck 3. Yet somehow, I am literally always put in the upper deck. I, just once, would like to know what it is like to dine on the lower deck. I'm tired of the nosebleed section! It's not hard to find out which side allows smoking, but I think that the smoking areas on the outdoor decks (Panorama deck included) are on the starboard side. When going outside from your rooms, and having your back to the waterslide, starboard side would be on the left. Part of the casino allows smoking, I think. There are outside decks on both decks 3 & 4 that are rarely used. I have seen some of the crew use those for smoke breaks. stormyweather44 Posted February 17, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted February 17, 2014 Thank you so much, K2! Very through and helpful reply! I feel awful that nicotine controls so much of my actions and limits me, but that is just the way it is, so I deal with it.
sailor_jimc Posted February 17, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2014 Carnival permits smoking on your balcony. Why would you need to leave your cabin?
winddawn Posted February 17, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 17, 2014 I was thinking I remember a designated smoking area just behind the outdoor big screen TV on Conquest. I'm not a smoker, but I think I remember that.
Publius1787 Posted February 17, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 17, 2014 After the 2.0 upgrades last year they removed the smoking areas on the Conquest from the Lido. It used to be the area where they put the Guy's Burger joint. We were on the Conquest after the upgrades and if I remember they moved the smoking area up to the Panorama Deck 10. Georgiagolfer Posted February 17, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 17, 2014 Carnival permits smoking on your balcony. Why would you need to leave your cabin? I agree, unless they have booked a spa balcony room. These type rooms do not permit smoking on the balcony, but all other types do on CCL.
KenMo Posted February 17, 2014 #8 Share Posted February 17, 2014 She's on Conquest, which does not have Cloud 9 Spa cabins. No need to leave your cabin. You can smoke on all balconies on Conquest.

Shaded Lady Posted February 17, 2014 #10 Share Posted February 17, 2014 Would like to find a smoking area on the Lido so I can leave my balcony without having a nicotine fit. I think the OP knows they can smoke on their balcony- I understood this to say where else can we smoke so we're not prisoners on our balcony when we want a cigarette... stormyweather44 Posted February 18, 2014 Author #11 Share Posted February 18, 2014 I don't want to be confined to my cabin because of smoking and I don't want to have to dash to my balcony every time the cravings set in in a serious way! It was so nice on the Pride that the smoking area was clearly marked, away from other tables that might be bothered by smoke and we could enjoy a cigarette after a meal there on the Lido. cruisin4Becky Posted February 18, 2014 #13 Share Posted February 18, 2014 Carnival permits smoking on your balcony. Why would you need to leave your cabin? Well because she would like to explore the ship as well as participate in other activities. So it is helpful to know where smoking is permitted,so she can find them easily. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Forums mobile app If I recall, other than balconies of balcony cabins.. the tables along the side of the ship that are on the right as you walk toward the front of the ship are smoking. the disco was smoking. and part of the casino was smoking. there may have been other bars that allow it. I don't remember. but once you get your fun times there is a section that tells exactly where all the smoking sections are.. Enjoy!! I loved the Pride! You are sailing during much warmer weather than we did,so you will get to enjoy the lido much longer than we did.
saharaga Posted February 18, 2014 #17 Share Posted February 18, 2014 We just got off the Conquest in October. You will be able to tell where the smoking area is on the Lido deck because the tables have ashtrays on them. We had a forward port side cabin and when we exited to the Lido deck, smokers were on the left side if I recall correctly. Policy from Carnival's site: What is the smoking policy? Effective June 15, 2011, cigarette smoking in public venues will only be permitted in Carnival’s dance clubs as well as in designated areas within the casino and casino bar. Smoking (including cigars) will be permitted in designated exterior open deck areas (starboard side) of all our ships. Additionally, smoking will also be allowed in the jazz clubs of the following ships: Carnival Destiny, Carnival Triumph, Carnival Victory, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Glory, Carnival Valor, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Freedom, and Carnival Splendor. * All Spa Suites and Staterooms, inclusive of the balconies, are an entirely smoke-free environment. Spa suites and staterooms are on the following ships only: Carnival Splendor, Carnival Dream, Carnival Breeze and Carnival Sunshine. * Effective December 1, 2011, smoking will be prohibited in all guest staterooms. Guests in balcony staterooms may smoke (including cigars) outside on their balcony. Guests who smoke in their staterooms will be assessed a $250 USD cleaning and refreshing fee on their Sail & Sign account. Information on this fee is included in Carnival’s ticket contract. Note: Electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes are only allowed in the designated smoking areas.
