Merion_Mom Posted February 24, 2014 #26 Share Posted February 24, 2014 No theme nights as I think you mean. There is a White Party on (I think) night #4. Poolside buffet and dance party. I don't remember all of the menus, but Night 4 was Jasmine and Night 5 was Pimiento. Jasmine is the menu with Fisherman's Platter. (lobster tail and tiger shrimp) Pimiento is the standard "last night" menu. It has the turkey dinner. :p I don't like any of the entrees, so I just get all starters: scallops and chorizo, Spanish tapas, a salad. :) I apologize. NOT Pimiento. POMODORO. :)
2disneydads Posted February 25, 2014 #27 Share Posted February 25, 2014 On the 5-night Liberty, is there a real formal night? Do we really need to pack a suit or formal clothes? On short cruises on Carnival and Disney there really is no need to dress formally any night. It would be great not to have pack those clothes with us. clean1owner Posted February 28, 2014 #29 Share Posted February 28, 2014 Gathering point for self-assist is Studio B on deck 3. Then you are escorted off...........and the exit point is the gangway on deck 1. So, yes, you have to walk down two flights of stairs. I had to walk down them, but I didn't have my big suitcase, since I didn't do self-assist. My suitcase was waiting for me in the terminal. But I still had to walk down to deck 1's gangway. From the gangway, you have a long walk into the terminal, but it is flat and hard, so suitcases with wheels are no problem at that point. We were able to use an elevator to get to Deck 1 from Studio B. The trick is to use the Port side elevators, and push the UP button. This will catch the elevator going back up to the decks where others are gathered to disembark, then ride it back down to Deck 1. If you push the DOWN button, the elevators will always be packed full when they stop on Level 3.
jengamom Posted March 1, 2014 #30 Share Posted March 1, 2014 I was on the same cruise with my 9 year old DS. We decided to do self-assist disembark and were able to take the elevator from deck 7 aft to deck 1 and walk right off @8:30 (we were going to wait for the 10 am self-assist but it kept getting pushed to a later time). Btw - my DS absolutely loved Ocean Adventure and wanted to spend every evening there, which was a big change from his Carnival camp experience. I thought they really had a super staff :) Sent from my iPhone using Forums
B&J_Pgh Posted March 2, 2014 #31 Share Posted March 2, 2014 it's been two years since we last cruised. We were on the Adventure and we know there are continuous cuts but the dining service certainly left something to be desired. Food was fine, no complaints. we've waited five years to go on a cruise with all you can eat lobster. we ran into a problem this time. Note: there is a cut off after each course of the meal. So if you decided in the middle of the entree you want another starter you may not be able to get it. If I wanted a cold fruit soup for dessert I would order it at the beginning (as it's a starter) and they would hold it at the server's station till the end. This was the case with the lobster as well. Since the cooks performed the same night we only got two lobster tails and then that was cut off for dessert. Hmm, we have done 2 royal cruises in the last three years and have never experienced the "cutoff". We were MTD though, so that might be the issue. We have as much time as we want when eating. Looking to go with the kids with the awesome kids free deal. Thanks for the review They have skates in all sizes. For the flowrider it is 52" tall to use the boogy board and 58"tall to do standup. Different wristbands for each and they are very strict in this requirement. We did see someone turned away who was half an inch short.
smalltimecruiser100 Posted March 2, 2014 #35 Share Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) Doing the 5 nt next Jan. How was Coz and Belize? Hope to do an off island excursion in Belize if they still have them that pick you up at the ship so I can avoid the tender ride into town.
