Sales tax has always been added on. It's in the 10% range.

I was on the sapphire 2 weeks ago and had a class of wine in vines prior to sailing away and only got charged the service charge. (I just looked at my receipt to be sure)

I don,t know we were told it is a new thing I know it was added on my sail away drink and later on after sailing it was still on and when I questioned it I was told it was taken off so many miles from port

In October last year the waiter advised us of the tax saying it wasn,t princess charging it this year we were not advised I just noticed that the sail away drink was pricey and remembered when I saw the bill about it

I can't imagine anyone would make a decision on whether to

purchase a sail-away drink based on whether the purchase

will have sales tax added.

 

If one is that worried about the sales tax, they should probably

see the big picture, and not buy the drink at all.

For all California ports, SD, Catalina, Santa Barbara, SF you probably get the same tax added. Calif has a sales tax as does most counties and cities.
